DEAR LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!

Direction of the social, non-commercial organisation of EXPERIMENTAL JAZZ LABORATORY address to you with a request to examine our project and to assist in its realisation, if, surely, you consider it useful for the society.

We mean the propaganda and further development of jazz music in Russia and, in particular, in Siberia. The history of jazz music in Siberia counts about 70 years. It goes without saying, that it became to approach to world and American jazz standards at the border of 70th years. Initiative group of Novosibirsk musicians organised and has been spending for 25 years concerts, festivals, recordings, radio and TV programmes. Often, this is the result of efforts of private persons. Our offers lead off to a following project, we'll speak about.

Edition of CDs with recordings of Siberian, Russian and touring in Russia world jazz. In 1994 5 CDs under the range "JAZZ from SIBERIA" were edited by efforts of musicians themselves. They represented the most outstanding recordings and jazz concerts. Guests from European part of the country as well as local musicians participated.

Now the recordings of other famous Russian musicians from Siberia are ready, as well as the concerts together with musicians from other cities of Russia, Europe and the USA. Practically all pick of Russian jazz is recorded here, and the collection of our phonograms shows the real (but unfortunately small-known, besides specialists) picture of modern jazz in Russia.

30 NEW GENERATION - The End of Century

"ANTHOLOGY OF SIBERIAN JAZZ", that includes 30 different ensembles from all large Siberian towns, where jazz was developed in last 20 years, and that is offered to be edited in three parts, waits for its time. These are recordings of traditional, classic jazz - mainstream. Of course, the interest of western public to Siberian jazz is not very high, because of the immense jazz empire at its motherland. But it is necessary for Russian listener, because we are convinced, that jazz richness is not completely realised in the world, and it enters the category of serious and elite musical genres.

At present moment the edition of 1 CD in Russia, together with printing is not more that $ 2,5 and it is realised at the factories in Ekaterinburg or Dusseldorf (Germany).

It is no sense to make now the number of each disc more than 500 examples. So, the edition of each album will cost $ 1 200. Experimental jazz laboratory pays all expenses on the organisation of musicians' arrival, rent of studios, and fees. If any culture-humanitarian foundation or investor responds and helps us, we are ready to decide together with the investor (sponsor) the further destiny of edition (realisation, diffusion in Russia, Europe, the USA etc.).

Besides, the investor places at the disc the confirmation, that this culture - humanitarian action took place owing to the support of his/her organisation and at one of the bucket pages an extensive advertisement or the information about sponsoring structure could be put.

About a half of the whole edition goes to authors-musicians, and disc (with the investors or sponsor advertisement) is diffused to all mass-media in Russia, Europe and USA by our net of radostantions, companies for commentators, critics and musicians.

We can present tapes, discs, ready master-tapes in DAT, photos, models of leaflets and covers.

In some cases we even can provide the recordings themselves to interested structures, if it is any sense of their edition in other cities and other firms.

There is not a commercial success in the base of this project, because any support of academic art (where jazz can be undoubtedly refereed to) is determined by the INVESTOR'S CONTRIBUTION to RUSSIAN CULTURE and his IMAGE. Safe-keeping of laser albums is hundreds years!

WE WOULD BE GLAD TO RECEIVE ANY SUPPORT, EVEN IF ONE MEANSONE-TWO ALBUMS! WE ARE GLAD TO DSICUSS WITH YOU ALL VARIANTS OF THIS MUTUAL PROJECT!

RESPECTLY,

Sergey BELICHENKO
