Large Bucket wheel excavator systems from krupp are custom designed and built for specific operating conditions and production rates. Currently attained production rates are up to 240,000m3 per day, digging heights of as much as 100m and service weights of 13,500 tonnes.
Krupp bucket wheel excavators are supplied as a complete system with a connecting conveyor bridge and loading unit or as a single bucket wheel excavator with discharge boom.
D1376, the worlds biggest excavator was commissioned in 1978 for the Hambach of Rheinbraun AG.
15 crawlers with a length of 15m and a width of 3.7m each carry D1376. A telescopic conveyor bridge, 103m long connects the excavator to the loading unit.
