Here you can get some info about my humble personality and some notable things and people I know. This page is under development. Sorry some links are temporary broken.

BRIEFLY ABOUT MYSELF

• Name: Leonid Zeitlin (where "Z" should be pronounced as in German, like "ts")
• Born: 25 Jun 1973, Kharkov, Ukraine (at that remote time - USSR)
• Education: School #1, Kharkov - 10 years "from bell to bell" :-) - blessed years! By sheer chance entered math club at "Dvorets Pionerov" (untranslatable reality of Soviet life) and this was my destiny. I did some successes in math, math competition for school kids, than math class in school, and finally - Department of Mathematics and Mechanincs of Kharkov State University (entered in 1990). Graduated in 1995. Thank you, Alma Mater! Now a Ph.D. student ("aspirant"). A notable thing: in 1993-94 spent an academic year on a student exchange in the University of Main, Orono, USA .
• Current occupation: Post graduate student at Kharkov State University and programmer for a private software company.
• Mathematics experience: General Banach space theory, vector measures, vector integration.
• Programming experience: 3.5 years of database-related client/server application development for MS Windows (3.x, 95, NT); WWW development, CGI/ISAPI/ASP programming; Unix system administration.
  Development tools: Borland Delphi (for Windows); GNU C/C++ (for Unix)
  DBMS: InterBase, Oracle.
  Platforms: MS DOS/Windows, Unix (esp. Linux).
• Plans: Post-graduate study, research, programmer's work and wandering around the Internet :-)

Professional

Mathematics. Functional Analysis, Banach space theory. If anyone has pointers to Internet resources on this topic, please tell me.

Programming. Being a programmer for (and one of the cofounders of) CS Ltd., a small privately-owned software development company in Kharkov, I do client/server application development in Borland Delphi. My company's current project is a banking system that started operations in one of Kharkov's banks this year. I also create web-based (ISAPI) applications using Delphi, as well as JavaScript and ActiveX technologies. For example, I created the "Client/Bank" subsystem for our banking system, which allows clients to enter their pay orders and view their account balance from any place in the world!

Besides this, I love to explore the wonders of the Linux operating system on my home computer. Having used Linux for 2.5 years at home and having set it up as an Internet server for a couple of organizations, I like this free OS very much. At my Linux page I collected several tips about Linux.

Of course, I am an Internet addict :-). I try to maintain a list of known (to me) Internet Services in Kharkov
