           Choir is the oldest domestic collective of radio and television founded in 1928 by patriarch of Russian choral art A.V. Sveshnikov. In 1952-83 the collective was headed by the outstanding musician K.B. Ptitsa
Since 1983 the art-adviser and chief choir-master is the People's Artist of the USSR, professor L.V. Yermakova.
           There are more than five thousand compositions in the choir's repertoire - operas, oratorios, cantatas by Russian and foreign composers, folk songs, sacred music. Within many years the choir actively cooperates with faimous musicians: E. Svetlanov, S. Richter, I. Arkhipova, E. Obraztsova, E. Nesterenko, Z. Sotkilava, M. Rostropovitch and N. Gedda.
