GENNADY
TCHERKASOV
was a student of the Central musical school at the Moscow Conservatory. He graduated the Conservatory on the class of a piano under Professor Samuil Feinberg. He was the assistant of Professor Alexander Gedike on the faculty of chamber ensemble. Per the same years Gennady Tcherkasov took lessons in the opera-symphonic conducting under Professors Alexander Gauk and Leo Ginzburg, trained in the Parisian National Conservatory under Professor Luis Forestye. Later he worked in the Bolshoy theatre in Moscow, conducting performances "Evgeny Onegin" by Tchaykovsky, "Mermaid" by Dargomyjsky, "The Tsar's fiancee" by Rimsky-Korsakov, "Falstaf" by Verdy. “Strictness and accuracy of gesture, skill by minimum means to achieve bright implementation of an author's intention, deep penetration in style of the work are peculiar to Tcherkasov's manner of conducting”, - wrote the known Russian conductor Konstantin Ivanov. Gennady Tcherkasov is the Professor of the Moscow Conservatory. He supervises the Conservatory Chamber orchestra, performs in concerts with the largest orchestras of the country such as a State symphonic orchestra of Russia the Large symphonic orchestra of TV and broadcasting.
