Graduated from the St. Petersburg State
Conservatory, where he had studied with Prof. Yuri Kramarov.
In 1985 he
completed the postgraduate level with Prof. Stopitchev. In 1980 Mr.
Meerovitch won a Special Diploma at the USSR National Violists Competition,
and subsequently appeared throughout Russia and abroad as a soloist. Since 1984 he has been teaching special viola at the Mussorgsky Music College in
St. Petersburg. Mr. Meerovitch plays a Landolfi viola, previously owned by
N.A.Rimsky-Korsakov.
