ALEXANDER SHUSTIN

(First Violin)

Is a graduate of the Gnessin Academy of Music (Moscow), and the Novosibirsk Conservatory. His teachers were M.Lieberman, N.Shkolnikova and G.Zhislin. One can frequently see and listen to him playing on stages of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk and other Russian musical centers.

In 1980 he became a laureate at the Yugoslavia International Violinists Competition (Belgrade).

Since 1993 he teaches special violin at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory. Before coming to St. Petersburg in 1992, Mr. Shustin occupied the positions of concertmaster at the Novosibirsk Philharmonic, and professor in the Novosibirsk State Conservatory. The violinist was awarded the title of "Honored Artist of Russia" in 1999.
