SERGEI SLOVATCHEVSKY

Graduated from the St. Petersburg State Conservatory in 1991 under supervision of Prof. A. Nikitin.

The musician has led an active creative life since his very childhood. Among his many successes it is particularly worth noting his achievement of First Prize at the Karl Davidov Pan-Russian Cello Competition in 1988, All-Union Cello Competition in Latvia in 1989, and at the Viotti International Chamber Ensemble Competition in Italy in 1991.

As soloist of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, he regularly appears to great success in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Novosibirsk and other cities of his homeland. His solo concerts have also been garlanded with praise by the concert-going public in countries like Finland, Germany, France, Poland, Japan and Turkey. The most memorable experiences in the artist's life have been his appearances in Russia and abroad in the capacity of soloist with the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Yuri Temirkanov.
