Dear traveler, if you have only one day in Moscow, the really first place to see is the city center: to visit the Kremlin, to walk along the Red Square and small nice streets, reflecting Moscow city life. But it could be really a pity to be in Moscow and not to see some other its attractions only because of the short time. Nevertheless there's one solution even for 1 day time to see the most of Moscow - to combine walk tour around the center with a car tour around all Moscow. If  after that you still have some energy you may have a short look at the Moscow metro (believe me, it worth it!) or/and see opera/ballet performance at the Bolshoy Theater. So see below the detailed description of a 1 day program. (Mind you, for the Kremlin day-off is Thursday, so if your only day is Thursday the program looks different). Wish you to have a great holidays in Moscow and feel free to contact us if you would like to have a guide or to reserve opera, ballet or any other tickets, advice about music concert, exhibition, restaurant, club, help with train tickets, transport and also if you just need details, advice or information, beacause it is this web for - to help you feel better in Moscow.

A Kemlin view from the Moskva river

1st third of the day - car city tour (takes about 5-6 hours)

  • all Center - the Kremlin Panorama,

  • Cathedral of Christ the Savior,

  • New Maiden (Novodevitchy) Convent (sort of prison for women from aristocratic families in old Russia)

  • Gorky Park,

  • Moscow University, Vorobjevy Hills (great panorama view over all Moscow)

  • Poklonnaya Gora ('bloody' fountains and the greatest II World War monument),

  • the White House,

  • old Arbat street (best place in Moscow for buying gifts),

  • Novodevitchy_convent
  • Kolomenskoe - old Russian Tsar's residence where a huge wooden palace (the 8th world miracle) used to stay. Now there's an amazing architectural complex, collection of the old wooden architectural construction, the oldest oaks (400-600 years old) and a beautiful park on the bank of the Moskva river (no days off),

  • Tsaritsino Catherine the II palace and estate is a witness of old and sad love story of one of the most interesting and capricious figure in Russian history  - Catherine the Great (the II), huge half ruined palace, lovely park, lots of interesting architectural details of the landscape (no days off).

St.Bathil's Cathedral on the Red Square

2nd third of the day - walk tour around the very center and the Kremlin (about 4 hours)

  • the Kremlin park territory,

  • all main cathedrals (4 of them) - where Russian Tsars used to held wedding, coronation and funeral ceremonies, in one of them there's a Russian Tsars' Necropol,

  • the Armory Chamber (inside the Kremlin) - greatest collection of Tsars' treasures - clothing, jewelry, crowns, thrones, horse harness, tableware, Ambassadors' gifts

  • Diamond Fund (inside the Kremlin) - the unique State collection of jewelry,

  • the Red Square,

  • the Manez Square,

  • the Theater Square

  • the Moscow metro

3rd third of the day - YES! after such a long day there's still time for the 3rd third,  robably the most quiet time during this day full of events, so you perhaps would wish to visit an opera or ballet performance, go to a bar or a restaurant.

The program described above seems to me a good investment of time, but still - it is YOUR time and your choice how to spend it better, as a guide I can only recommend something, so feel free to tell me your priorities and discuss with me YOUR program to make your only day in Moscow the most unforgettable.
