Rails ultrasonic flaw detection

Markov Anatoliy Arkadjevich graduated from the Leningrad Rail-way Transport Engineers Institute. He was a senior research fellow of the Bridges Scientific Reseach Institute PSUMC (St.Petersburg State University Means of Communications). More than two years he had been a chief of ultrasonic and radioscopic flaw detection sub-division at the construction of the largest bridge in south-east Asia - "THANG-LONG" in Vietnam. From 1993 after the candidate thesis defending he is at the head of "Nondestructive testing methods and facilities" division in the "Radioavionica" joint-stock company. AVICON-01 and AVICON-02 flaw detectors combined bogie-flaw detector with AVICON-03 equipment and other facilities were devel-oped with his direct participation and under his supervision. He has 125 scientific publications iveluding 32 inventions devoted to the problems of effective systems of rails ultrasonic flaw detection development. He is assistant professor of the "Engineering subjects diagnostics and safety" department, he takes part in training of specialists-engineers for railways.

Shpagin Dmitriy Alekseevich graduated from the Leningrad Military Mechanical Institute. He is a senior lecturer of BSTU (Baltic State Technical University). From 1980 after the candidate thesis defending he is a chief of scientific group realizing investigations in the area of information-measuring systems development and signal optimal digital processing. He is the author of signals processing algorithm of combined bogie-flaw detector in AVICON-03 equipment, coauthor and supervisor of studies of some teaching programmes: "Recommendations on ultrasonic bogie-flaw detector radiograms interpretation", "Fundamentals of rails ultrasonic flaw detection" and others. Rails high-velocity ultrasonic inspection signals modeling software has been developed with his direct participation and under his supervision. He has 68 scientific publications devoted to the problems of signals optimal processing. As an assistant professor of BSTU he takes part in training of engineers and scientists including railways personnel.
